What is it?[]

A dreamcast, also known as fancast, is an actor, model, otherwise famous person or face whom the 'fan', you, think looks like what you think the character looks like. For example, the author of The Life and Times fancasts James as Julian Morris.

It's simply saying, if this were a movie, who would play which characters?

Relevance and "What is this page?"[]

Because The Life and Times is a work of Fanfiction, with many fan made characters, there will never be a real casting by JK Rowling. There may be older versions of Canon characters, such as Sirius and Remus who appear in the films, but we never see their younger counterparts brought to life. All of the images on character pages on this Wikia are Dreamcasts.

This page is here because there may be more than one person who you, and the community think fits the role of any given character. It also provides easy access to all photos of these characters and people on the wikia.

The Dreamcast - James & Lily[]

Lily Evans[]

Lily is striking. She isn't particularly tall, but she is taller than her fellow roommates Carlotta Meloni, Shelley Mumps and Mary Macdonald. She has dark red hair and large green eyes, and is often described as pretty - nearly as beautiful as Carlotta.

"Lily was a beautiful woman with thick, dark red hair that fell to her shoulders, and almond-shaped, bright green eyes. Apparently, her eyes were extremely distinctive, because every person who knew Lily would always see them in her son, Harry. When the aged Harry travelled back to the past, he commented that even in the face of death, she was still beautiful." - Harry Potter Wiki

James Potter[]

James, from Chapter 2, is described as tall, black-haired, strong-jawed and straight-nosed. He has hazel eyes and wears glasses with a very distinctive walk: a simultaneously lazy and business-like, self-possessing walk that showed his confidence wherever he was. He is considered attractive, with a casual air and a perpetual crooked grin. At one point James notes that he shares many of his mannerisms with his father, something that frustrates him.

"James was a tall, thin man with hazel eyes and untidy black hair that stuck up at the back. During his Hogwarts years, he had an indefinable air of having been well cared for and even adored. As late as his fifth year, he started wearing glasses, though he had not in his first year." - Harry Potter Wiki

The Dreamcast - Supporting Characters[]

Remus Lupin[]

Remus has grey eyes and brown hair, like his mother. He is tall, and of a lean build.

"Remus was described as having a pale face with premature lines, and light brown hair that, as he progressed through his thirties, became more and more grey. The lines on his face and his greying hair were the results of the great deal of stress his body underwent with each full moon. His clothing is consistently shabby and patched, presumably because of his inability to find a decently-paid job due to his status as a werewolf." - Harry Potter Wiki

Sirius Black[]

Sirius is often described as being handsome. He has black hair and grey-blue eyes. He shares some traits such as his eye colour, nose and some mannerisms with his uncle, Alphard Black.

"Sirius was a tall, well-built, darkly handsome man with fair skin, medium, lustrous black hair, which sometimes appeared light in the sun, striking grey eyes, and an air of "casual elegance"; Harry also noted that as a teenager, Sirius always had a slightly haughty look on his face. This vestige of aristocratic beauty and haughtiness is apparently an attribute passed down through the Black Family. When Harry entered into Snape's memory, he saw a sixteen-year-old Sirius finishing his exams while being ogled by a girl who sat a few rows behind him, due to his considerable good looks and casual yet elegant attitude." - Harry Potter Wiki

Peter Pettigrew[]

Peter is five foot seven inches or 170cm tall. He has sandy blond hair.

"Pettigrew was an extremely short man (no taller than Harry when he was thirteen or Hermione when she was fourteen years old) with grubby skin, small watery eyes, and a pointed nose, all of which were lingering attributes of his animagus rat form; he even spoke in a squeaky voice that is another lingering attribute of his rat form. In his youth, his hair was mousy brown, but by his mid-thirties, it had thinned, lost a lot of its colour, and acquired a large bald patch.

He was also described as "fat" in his youth, but when forced to return to his human form in the Shrieking Shack, he looked as though he lost plenty of weight in a short time, mostly due to his stress of fearing Sirius's wrath." - Harry Potter Wiki

Marlene Price[]

Marlene is tall, pale and shapely with blue eyes. She has long, blonde hair until chapter 28, where it is cut in a pixie instead. She is described as being on the thinner side and has a habit of going on diets, because she is insecure about her body.Canon character only mentioned by name in the books as Marlene McKinnon, her wiki drawing is of a girl with brown hair and brown eyes.

Donna Shacklebolt[]

Donna is described to be a tall, athletically-built black witch, with unruly, curly black hair and large, amber-coloured eyes. She is said to be beautiful, described as "really quite striking" by Adam McKinnon.

Donna Shacklebolt isn't a canon character. In the Life and Times, Donna is Kingsley Shacklebolt's little sister and she's in the same year and House as the Marauders.

Mary Macdonald[]

Mary is petite with rich, chestnut coloured hair and large hazel eyes.

"Mary was a woman with dark brown hair, blue eyes and fair skin." - Harry Potter Wiki (Mary Cattermole)

Severus Snape[]

Severus is described as having a thin, pale face and black eyes, He has black hair.

"Severus Snape was a thin man with sallow skin, a large, hooked nose and yellow, uneven teeth. He usually dressed in flowing black robes which made him resemble "an overgrown bat". He had shoulder-length, greasy black hair which framed his face in curtains, curling lips and dark, penetrating eyes that resembled tunnels. As a Death Eater, he bore the Dark Mark on his left inner forearm.

The younger Snape had a "stringy, pallid look", being "round-shouldered yet angular" and with a "twitchy walk that recalled a spider", as well as "long oily hair that jumped about his face"." - Harry Potter Wiki

Alice Griffiths[]

Alice is described as having golden brown ringlets, with a sweet, round face and pale skin. She also has hazel eyes. During her break with Frank, she tries out a new look, straightening and lightening her hair and wearing makeup occasionally. It is implied that before this, she rarely wore make up or tamed her hair.

"Alice was a round-faced woman with short hair, and her son Neville resembled her quite strongly. By the mid-1990s, however, her face became thin and worn, and her hair had become white, wispy and dead-looking, which was most likely due to her insanity from the Cruciatus Curse along with older age." - Harry Potter Wiki

Frank Longbottom[]

There is not much written on Franks physical appearance aside from him having blue eyes. It is implied that he is quite good looking however, as Alice overhears a group of younger girls commenting on him, "he's always been a dream, easy to miss, but if you look".

Frank doesn't have any physical description in canon but is headcannoned as nonbinary (Frank/Frankie).

Regulus Black[]

He is handsome and looks very similar to his brother, Sirius, and presumably has black hair and grey-blue eyes. He has short hair.

"Regulus has been known to have resembled his older brother, with the black hair and haughty good looks common to their family history. Harry Potter made an opinion that Regulus was "smaller, slighter, and rather less handsome than Sirius had been." As a Death Eater, he bore the Dark Mark on his left inner forearm." - Harry Potter Wiki

Carlotta Meloni[]

Carlotta Meloni is described to be very beautiful ("positively lovely"). She has long, shiny chestnut coloured hair with eyes of the same colour. Her skin is olive toned and very smooth—Carlotta herself believes this is due to the fact she meditates a lot and drinks green tea, but it's most likely to be luck in genetics. She has delicate hands and thick, black eyelashes. Though short, she has a willowy build. Her voice, supposedly, makes every little mundane thing, highly interesting—especially to a male audience. She has perfect posture.

Carlotta isn't a canon character.
